I think this guy got his start at the South Broadway Athletic Club. Den, I know you saw him wrestle at Blackburn College several years ago. And I know we saw his last ever RoH match. Good for Matt Sydal.
Credit to Lordsofpain.net:
-- Matt Sydal made his WWE television debut on tonight's edition of ECW on Sci Fi. He took on Shelton Benjamin in his debut match and got quite a bit of offense in. Sydal was counted out at the four minute mark after Benjamin picked him up for a powerbomb on the floor, then turned and threw him into Kofi Kingston instead, who was sitting at the broadcast table. Sydal, who is five foot seven and 25 years old, signed a developmental contract with WWE last summer after impressing officials during a tryout. He was then sent to Ohio Valley Wrestling, where he reigned as champion for two months. After WWE pulled their affiliation with OVW, Sydal was sent to Florida Championship Wrestling. He worked a dark match with Jamie Noble three weeks ago.
