I don't know why the agnostics would be laughing, because they are a pretty sad little bunch. The dictionary definition of an agnostic is one who is skeptical about the existence of God and believes that it is impossible to know whether there is a God. In a word: Noncommittal. You're not ballsy enough to profess to be an athesist and you're too lazy to continue searching for truth...so you take the cowardly "neutral" position and "laugh" at those of us who have opinions and try to educate ourselves. (Its like you're laughing at a punchline that you don't understand) Now I realize why my husband was so suicidal when he was agnostic. It must be pretty darn depressing in having no passion and being so doubtful.

It must be pretty darn depressing in having no passion and being so doubtful. you don't know why they'd be laughing? really? i'm not an agnostic, but i'm also not a person that feels that fact makes me superior. maybe i'm wrong, but i thought agnostics just felt that you couldn't prove there was a higher power, or prove that there wasn't one. sort of like those "if a tree falls in a forest and no one is around..." people. and, i thought atheists think for a fact that there is not a higher power. so the agnostics just aren't sure, i didn't think that equated to, ah, a lack of "ballsiness" or to profound laziness. and, cowardly? please. didn't you read the biblical quotes i left for you? did you not figure out how to stick your tongue in your cheek? i offered to help! everyone has their own opinion, and its all fun and games until someone tries to save your soul. my soul is just fine and dandy, thank you very much, and it aggravates me when it may be indirectly implied that it isn't. condescension and pretentiousness are two things i have very little patience for. as for our resident agnostics, i'm not worried about their souls, either (and i think they are clearly the ones under more attack here) because i know them, and they're good people, and that's really all it boils down to, in my opinion. the powers that be, i think, are bigger than you and me and any church set up to worship them, and any person that tries to tell you how. and, i'm pretty sure if i can spot a good person, said powers can definitely do it, too. and now i was forced to be all serious for a second, and i just don't look good in that color, so thanks alot. in other news, i think larry bird would be fun at parties. oh, sorry, one last thing, agnosticism is not synonymous with dispassionate. you seem to know your shit, at least your shit according to you, you could do better than pulling the suicide/depression card. i have to admit i was disappointed by that. there are millions of things to be passionate about, with or without religion, just as there are millions of things to be depressed and suicidal about, with or without religion, its all in your frame of mind. (hey larry, you ever make it over to illinois? wink, wink)

Irrefutable Facts about Jesus: Jesus is a Democrat - Jesus bats in the one-spot for the Boston RedSox - Jesus graduated summa cum laud - Palestine U. circa 24 ce- Jesus was patriotic (and had a great sense of fashion)- The King of Kings was a fan of the other King- Jesus loved human flesh (not just his own)- Jesus thought agnostics were fucking hilarious- Wouldn't you get a kick out of it if you were the Son of God, made man, and people still didn't believe in you. And although I've never actually met the Guy, I think he loves weak willed sinners just as much as he loves those self-righteous, pompous, fear-mongering, Chriso-fascist, weak-willed freaks that think they fucking know everything. Guess what, freak, all claims of divinity aside, the New Testament was sold to people like an ancient infomercial and then spread throughout the Roman world because Constantine knew it would be politically efficient. Guess what else...if you'd have been born a Jew, Muslim, Hindu, or Rain Forest Pagan, you'd still be just as big of an idiot, talking about shit you could never understand. There's a big fucking difference between facts and opinions. You've got a bunch of opinions that don't mean shit to people with other opinions. Opinions just as valid and logical to them as yours are to you. If there is a God, there's only one, and that means a whole shit load of people (most of them) are wrong about their beliefs. Not that God cares. She's got a whole universe to think about. So go tell some young girls going into an abortion clinic they're going to hell. They really need to hear it. Go hold a big fucking sign that reads 'The End is Near' outside the Edward Jones Dome. Football fans need saved too. Give all your money to Pat Robertson. He needs all the help he can get in stopping gay marriages. Move to Kansas so your kids can learn creationism along side evolution. America is progressing so fast in the field of science, we could really use something to set us back a couple hundred years. p.s. Happy 200th Birthday to Joseph Smith this Friday, December 23rd. America's 1st prophet and founder of the Latter Day Saints - the TRUE Christianity. No wonder he was lynched by an angry mob...he was right!

tslave, i have so much to say, but i am going to keep this relatively short (i am assuming your comment was for me because i believe i am the only one who confessed my lack of religion), if i was your husband, i definitely wouldn't have hesitated to off myself, you sound like a real fuckin' pill. i have educated myself about religion as much as i wish to and have found, through a lot of soul searching (yes, cunt, i have a soul) that it's bullshit. it's all crap. the only ones i even remotely agree with are wiccan because they celebrate nature and some jew rhetoric because the don't believe jesus was the son of god. i think you are the ball-less coward, the passionless whore, you took what mommy and daddy taught you and took it as gospel. maybe you're the one who hasn't explored the possibility that your god is a joke and doesn't exist. everyone who knows me (with a few exceptions) knows that i am a good person and if there is a deity in the freakin' sky, she knows i'm a good person. i know i am a good person. my family knows i'm a good person. In a NutSack, your opinion means shit to me and everyone else on this forum. also, in case you missed it, the fucking crusades are over. PS... FUCK REAGAN, FUCK JESUS, and FUCK YOU TOO. - Yucko the Clown

I do not normally make it a point to attack Christianity, at least not in public, but my first response to her first post was something I have been waiting for and well deserved. The christians have the run of this country and I have to live here too, making me a stranger in my own land so to speak. On any other forum, I would not have responded to begin with, but since I consider this my turf amongst my friends and family, I felt comfortable doing so. I know that responding to her, especially passionately, would do no good, but it felt good to me. It was nice being able to stand up for something I believe in. If she got to do it at the risk of alienating others, then so can I.

Diana: “Condescension and pretentiousness are two things i have very little patience for.”
You must not get along with Tori very well. You should share your verse with her. "Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven". Luke 6:37
Or does it only apply to me? ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….. Tori: “I am agnostic and am relieved to see someone talking about religion in a less emotional tone.” Tori: “PS... FUCK REAGAN, FUCK JESUS, and FUCK YOU TOO.” Tori: “This slave... is 21 years old. No offense everyone who is and under but WHAT THE FUCK COULD YOU POSSIBLY KNOW FOR SURE? YOU NEED TO RESPECT YOUR ELDERS AND KEEP YOUR RETARDED MOUTH SHUT ABOUT THINGS YOUR SMALL MIND COULDN'T POSSIBLY UNDERSTAND. Fucking toddler.’”
Your hypocrisy speaks for itself.
I’m glad I struck a cord, even if it was a negative one. You’ve made it obvious by your fits and outbursts anger that in spite of my age, I seem to have made you think enough to get your cage rattled, and maybe even do a little more soul searching than you’ll admit too. (You’ll notice I never once questioned the status of yours or anyone’s soul.) But you must be gravely concerned about yours, since it was the first thing you endeavored to defend, even when it wasn’t being accused. Your reaction is one of a guilty, uncertain and hateful individual. (This is simply my perception nothing more)
And since you felt it necessary to bring up your disdain for Reagan specifically and Republicans in general, you should be reminded that the Liberal/Democratic party (which you seem to tend towards) is supposed to be tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others. So you might want to reconsider your political stance, because you are certainly lacking in the tolerance department.
Tori: “I have educated myself about religion as much as I wish to.”
That’s really a shame, because there are millions of people in the world like me that will call you out on your views, and in this day in age, it won’t be sufficient for you to simply throw a tantrum and name call. Because you will expose yourself publicly to be an ill informed hate monger and a hypocrite. When it comes to respect, you in your aged wisdom should know that it is something that is earned not demanded. (Something else you might want to consider educating yourself on).
As far as my husband is concerned, you should all meet him. He would tell himself how much the love of Jesus has changed his life. He was agnostic when we first started going out, but he was open-minded enough to continue searching and not accept “I don’t know” for an answer. Jesus found him, not the other way around. (Its not like Jesus was lost.) And he transformed from being suicidal and desperate, to being filled with the hope of promised salvation and the love of Jesus. I’m not going to say that we have a perfect life, we don’t. We have problems and issues just like everyone. But we have Jesus Christ who keeps us on the right track and takes care of us.
And you are all free to pick that to pieces as much as you wish to. But it doesn’t change how we feel about our Savior or ourselves. Jesus Christ is much more to us than you could understand unless you experienced the change of heart that only He can give.
Your hatred and disgust of me is only confirmation that what Jesus said is true and makes me that much more confident in what I believe.
Luke 21:17 “You shall be hated by all men for my name’s sake.” John 15:18 “If the world hates you, you know that it hated me before it hated you.” Mark 13:13 And everyone will hate you because of your allegiance to me. But those who endure to the end will be saved.

And Leslie my dear, I understand that as a Christian I am held to a different standard. I understand that everyone else can attack and belittle Christianity as much as possible, but when I take a few jabs at the opposing side, all hell breaks loose. It may have been in bad taste what I had said initially about agnostics but like you said, its merely an opinion, Its very easy to get irritated on these message boards, which is why I avoid them.
I’d much rather discuss these topics in person with a civil, open-minded individual. I have nothing more to say on this matter, and no more explanations to offer.
